I write catchy music + lyrics songs that cover many of the primary human emotions: love, loss, recovery, happiness, spirituality, ambition, greed, death, trust, humour, hope, and kindness, just to name a few.
My main styles are pop, ballad, light rock, country-influence, and sometimes latin-tinged. And I tend to use slightly more than 4 chords in a song, but am also fond of alternate bass notes to make basic structures more interesting whilst still ‘keeping it simple’ (my motto in life as well as music!).
Lyrically I tend to get straight to the point with short but hooky intros often leading straight into the chorus. Here are some examples:
I have 30 songs which are fully produced and I would like to be used in film, TV, advertising, and on other media outlets. Every song is self-penned and I own 100% of the copyright and 100% of the masters because I paid for all the recordings myself. Every song has between 8-12 stems available and all registrations of PPL UK and PRS For Music have been processed.
I also have another 40+ songs in various states of progress, any of which could be brought to full production in as little as 72h, subject to studio availability (they usually prioritise me though!!)
I am also adept at writing to remit, and as long as it is within my musical comfort zone I am able to create tracks to the standard you have already heard: writing, arranging, recording, mixing, mastering to full production in a surprisingly short period of time.
I have a studio in my house with the array of instruments you would expect from any serious composer. But in truth, much of it is created on my Mac laptop using my favourite combination of a UA Apollo Twin and an Audio Technica mic which I prefer to every Neumann or other regular studio brand I have ever tried!
I have been using computer software for a long time and can often create 70-80% of the tracks wherever I am in the world before I even take/send them to the studio to finalise. I have often challenged music professionals to tell me which tracks are live and which are generated, and I cannot recall anyone ever getting this 100% right!
Despite being a naturally upbeat and cheerful person :-) I’m not afraid to tackle darker subjects, in fact I quite enjoy the challenge. I may prefer a certain musical comfort zone where I feel I am best, but lyrically I am very open minded and always willing and enthusiastic to learn and explore.
Having successfully run my own business for over 25 years I am super reliable, punctual, and an efficient communicator. Tech savvy but not chained to technology, friendly, helpful, and consistently trying to always do “the next right thing”. So if you like anything you have read and heard above, feel free to pick up the phone or send me a message - let’s chat!!
I am also experienced in business - generally and understand (mostly!) how the music business works - and and fully aware of many of the complexities and the need to cooperate, compromise, and sometimes speculate to accumulate But most importantly of the value of forging a successful and longstanding relationship with the right person, or people.
